WEDDING! Jessie & Jacob
August 18th, 2009Joanna and I traveled to Phoenix, Maryland this past weekend to photograph Jessie & Jacob’s wedding!

Amy Jones
August 17th, 2009Joanna and I got married on March 28 of this year and when it came time to start making the day a reality, we knew we needed someone to organize and keep people on task. Of course, there’s only one person we could think of to do this task.
Amy Jones.
As a thank you for her hard work and dedication to us, we decided to give her a photo shoot. We didn’t want to do the typical style photo shoot that we normally do. We wanted to dress it up a bit.
Amy’s friend, Lori was on her way back to west coast and decided to stop by and visit her friends on the best coast. Lori always thought Amy looked very 1920s so we ran with that look for the first part of the shoot and then took it to the streets in a more urban look as evening descending upon Washington DC.
Here are a few from the urban look.
Amy, Thank You for all your hard work in making our wedding a success! We had so much fun and were able to just enjoy every part of the day! It was truly memorable because of your service to us! Thanks!

Maya Angelou Seniors
August 12th, 2009I’ve been sitting on these photos for a while just waiting to show you on the new site.
These are students from The Maya Angelou Charter School in Southeast Washington DC. My friend (and former neighbor), Karen, introduced me to these kids because she teaches them every day. She loves these kids with a passion and it shows every time she talks about them and to them. She desires so much to see these kids achieve their goals and dreams.
These kids are so cool! We had so much fun going to locations that they chose around DC. During one shoot we got kicked out of the National Mall by the park police. Who knew you needed to get a permit?
The sessions crossed over a couple weeks and we went everywhere from the Lincoln Memorial to Georgetown to U Street to The Arboretum.

WEDDING! Jessica & Adam
August 11th, 2009What an absolutely FUN wedding!
Joanna and I were so excited to shoot this wedding. One because, the Johnson family and I go way back. So far back, in fact, that their son, Jared, and I were in the nursery together. Jared and I were some of the first kids in that nursery. It wasn’t until 20 + years later that we both ended up in Washington DC.
The other big draw to this wedding was that Jessica and Adam are really fun. They both have amazing stories and they couldn’t be more perfect for each other.
The wedding was filled with plenty of emotion. I must confess, I hid behind the camera a few times during Scott Johnson’s message to his daughter and Adam. Scott has been praying for Adam his entire life. Of course, he didn’t know until a couple years ago, but nevertheless, Scott’s prayers were answered with a Godly and caring husband for Jessica.
After the ceremony, we hopped on a trolley and headed over to the reception stopping along the way at the Reston Town Center to take some photos of the wedding party. We had limited time and directing 19 people is quite the task with a concert going on in the background and people milling about. But we managed and got some fun photos!
You can see more of the day over on Adam and Jessica’s page.
