This was the last image I saw through my beloved 24-70mm f/2.8 lens this weekend.
This guy’s leg came flying up and kicked my camera out of my hand. That’s all I thought he did at first but upon further inspection…
This is why we save money. The lens is being replaced and we’re back in wide angle action!
Sarah & Jesse were married Saturday at Bluemont Vineyards in beautiful Virginia. I’m gonna take a moment and plug Virginia for a second:
Seriously… Virginia is a great place to get married in the fall. You can’t beat it. Gorgeous!
The weather was perfect on the last weekend of the summer. There was a cool breeze and the light was as perfect as it can be.
Sarah wore a 68 year old wedding dress her mother and aunts wore. She then changed into another dress for the reception which was equally as beautiful!
Check out a preview of the images at Sarah and Jesse’s page. Don’t forget to leave them a congratulatory message!
Mike and Meryl met at St. Louis University and after 7 years made it official and became husband and wife. Joanna and Mike were in ROTC together at SLU and when Mike moved to DC, he reconnected with Joanna.
The four of us have become quick friends and Joanna and I were honored to be a part of their wedding day! Mike and Meryl are such wonderful people and we’ve loved getting to know them over the last several weeks.
We took photos around Washington DC before the wedding. We went from the National Portrait Gallery to the WWII Memorial (where we ran into Perez Hilton), and finally the WWI Memorial.
They are off on their honeymoon in beautiful Greece and Italy but I wanted to show you some shots from Saturday. You can see them all on their page. Feel free to leave congratulatory messages.
We were shooting Meryl and Mike’s wedding photos this afternoon and while we were taking some photos at the WWII Memorial, a girl and a guy started taking photos behind us with the Lincoln Memorial and the wedding party in the background. Among the blue jean shorts and fanny packed tourists, these two were too fashionable to be one of the “tea baggers” or from the Washington DC area.
Joanna went over and asked if the girl was working on a model portfolio but she told Joanna she was an artist. After Joanna gave them to directions to the White House, she realized she was talking to Perez Hilton so she asked them if they would jump in the photo as they had become a hit with the wedding party.
Luckily Pedro the pug was with us and gave Perez a big kiss!
Thanks Perez for jumping in the photo! We hope you’re enjoying DC!
