Jessica & Adam ENGAGEMENT!

Jessica & Adam went to the same university as me.  We connected a different way.

Jessica’s dad was the youth pastor at the church my family attended.  Jessica’s brother was in the nursery with me and her mom babysat me every now and again.  The Johnson’s moved away when I was 4 and it wasn’t until a couple years ago that Jared and I put it together that we were in diapers together.  I believe Jessica was still a newborn when they moved.

Fast forward 23 years.  Jessica is all grown up and is marrying a great guy in Adam.

Jessica’s family lives across the street from the waterfront and the DC fish market (the smell could kill) so we headed down there for a few shots and a man—I swear this man was searching for the great white whale—thought they were professional models!  They were that good in front of the camera!

Abi and Dylan became husband and wife on Sunday evening!

They are two of the most creative people Joanna and I know and they have been a HUGE blessing to the two of us.  They have become our first “couple friends” (you know you get those when you get married).  We have spent a lot of time with each other over the last couple months nailing down the invitations for Joanna and my wedding in March and have just grown to love them so much!

You can see how they love each other just by the way Dylan looks at Abi.  We caught the glance a couple times on Sunday and you can see the room disappear when he looks at her.

The day was relaxed and was made up of some quality family hang out time in the afternoon and some competitive games of Bocce Ball (once the rules were figured out).

The ceremony was limited to family only and took place at the very lovely Clifton Inn in Charlottesville, VA.

We can’t wait to go back with Abi & Dylan in April to shoot their DAY ONE! Session!

Wesley’s 1st Birthday

Wesley is 1 year old!

What a privilege it is to come into someone’s house and photograph this monumental time in a family’s history.  First child and first of many more birthday parties!

The Hanks wanted to get some photos of one year old Wesley and decided to lump in a FAMILY! portrait session along with coverage of the party (complete with CAKE SMASH!) Cake on the face is hilarious to me and it makes for some wonderful expressions.

I guess I should end this post with YES!  I am available for birthday parties!
