SNAP!

Jenifer & Dave

May 05, 2007 | Pictage

I have known Jen for a couple of years.  We used to go to church together and then, she dropped off the face of the planet… or so I thought.  When she resurfaced, I found out she was getting married.  She told me she was getting married out at Foggy Bottom Vineyard, a place I’ve photographed before, and she asked if I would photograph her wedding.

Since Foggy Bottom Vineyard is over and hour from my house and the wedding was so early in the morning, I decided to leave on Saturday and join in on the rehearsal festivities.

They did a quick run through and then it was off to the rehearsal dinner at a Mexican restaurant since it was Cinco De Mayo.

After dinner, many family members and friends got up and told funny stories about Dave and Jen which made for some great photos.  Children at weddings make for some of the cutest photos and this was no exception.  The children at this wedding were adorable… see for yourself on the right.

The day of the wedding was hot but when it’s hot and you have a picturesque landscape like there is at Foggy Bottom Vineyard, it just doesn’t matter.  I could sit out there all day looking at that view.

At the reception, Jen and Dave didn’t stop greeting friends and family.  Each person had something very unique and personal to say to them and there was a steady flow of people for the entire afternoon.

The day was beautiful and after everyone had left, I finally got a minute to photograph Jen’s custom made dress in detail as well as the new couple under the homemade arbor.  I always like to try something different with the ring picture so this time I drew inspiration from “American Gothic.” I like how it turned out and I love the blue sky behind them.
